MEC offers a unique job support program for employed clients who want to keep their job and achieve long-term success.
Job Coaching
When you are hired and need job coaching, we will assign you an Occupational Communication Specialist (OCS), who will:
- Make sure things go smoothly at the new job
- Support you and your new employer
- Solve job problems
- Educate your employer about Deaf Culture and communication choices
- Educate you and your employers about available technology options
Your Occupational Communication Specialist (OCS)
MEC team members that help you with job coaching and follow-up services are called Occupational Communication Specialists (OCS). Every OCS:
- Signs at an advanced level of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Understands the causes of hearing loss
- Knows Deaf Culture
